Earthquakes in Japan And Long Beach California

August 22, 2011 | By More

It hasn't been a good week for natural disasters. Another earthquake has hit Japan – this time it's 6.8 in magnitude. And if that's not enough there's been a second earthquake in Long Beach California. Sometimes it's easy to get depressed by suffering brought on by nature. There certainly seems to be a lot of it going around. So what does it all mean and what can we do about it?

Well the one thing we shouldn't be doing is arguing over what's causing it. It's pretty obvious to most people out there, that even if global warming is a myth, something's playing havoc with our planet. There's been more earthquakes, droughts, floods, cyclones and tsunamis over the last 3 years than most people can remember in their lifetime. No country seems to have been untouched by natural disasters, and some countries like Japan, have been particularly devastated. Just taking a look at recent events, I remember Haiti, Pakistan, Australia, Japan and other countries being ripped apart.

From a spiritual perspective it's sometimes hard to see where the light at the end of the tunnel is. Whether you believe in global warming is irrelevant at this stage, what we need now is some practical and mental shifts in attitude. We as practitioners of the Law of Attraction are able to help raise the vibration of the planet. Simply by visualizing the exact outcome we desire, and by feeling positive emotions as much as we can, we will assist in preventing further catastrophes. It doesn't take much, in fact it takes very little effort on our part. Just spend 10 minutes a day sending love to whatever country you choose will go a long way in helping our neighbours and ourselves.

And of course we must do what we can to help those in need. Sometimes the simplest deeds can really make a difference. I recently heard from a friend in Australia who did not know what to do for the flood victims in Queensland. She lived some 450 miles south of the city of Brisbane (which faced the worst floods in 100 years) so was not in easy reach. She asked some people who were working at the relief shelters what was needed and decided to send some shoes. A simple box of flip flops was sent to the flood victims. It wasn't costly but it was one item that may have been neglected. It might not sound like much but to someone who has lost everything, it's one less thing to worry about.

So what does this say about earthquakes in Japan and Long Beach? Not to mention the terrible drought in Africa (Somalia and Kenya). It says that the simple act of giving what you can, and therefore raising your own vibration will go a long way to healing the planet. You don't have to become frustrated or sad about the plights of others. Look at it as an opportunity to give some hope and love. Arguing about which government should pay carbon tax does nothing. And pretending global warming doesn't exist won't make it go away. But manifesting a brilliant future for ourselves and the planet will.
